Light Reflectance Values
LRV (Light Reflective Value) is the amount of light that a surface reflects in comparison to the amount of light that falls on to the surface.
By knowing the values in advance an Architect or Designer are assisted in determining the neccessary contrast
between surfaces in order to meet to the DDA standards and Building Regulations.
Current guidelines (BS8300:2009) recommend that areas exceeding 30 points difference (between stair nosing and flooring) is an adequate visual contrast.
